Lend Me A Tenor 2002

by Ken Ludwig

Directed by Casey P. Campbell

Director's Note

We need to laugh. Plain and simple, everyone needs to laugh. If tragedies arise, people need to laugh as much as they need to cry. I am so thankful that after the 9/11 attacks, comedic entertainers such as David Letterman, Jon Steward and the cast of Saturday Night Live came back to do what they are known for. When the nation was down, we needed those entertainers to lighten our spirits and give us a simple chuckle every now and then. Laughter not only gives us a sense of entertainment and relief, it also reminds us that life will go on and more smiles await us down the road.

It has been my great pleasure to direct this wonderful show, Lend Me a Tenor. I am very proud of this cast and the hard work they have done. The various crew members also deserve some commending for their outstanding work with a difficult set and numerous dressings. This show is performed for one mere purpose: to entertain you, the audience. There is no hidden subtext, nor is it something that gives the author a platform to speak his mind on certain matters. This show will give you the wonderful things that comedy has been built on. Slapstick, humorous situations, one-liners and hysterical characters are all of the great aspects of this show.
