Cry Havoc 2000
by Stephan Wolfert
Directed by Erica Lewis
Director's Note

Throughout history, men are given honor and recognition for their service to their country. However, women also played a very crucial role during times of war. They worked in factories, kept homes going, and went on the battlefields as selfless volunteers. Although these women were not in combat, they faced almost as much danger as the men. Through Cry Havoc, we can get a glimpse into the lives of the women who gave up their past and sometimes their future to serve their country in the Bataan during World War II. Their struggles represent the struggles faced by all women who risked their lives for what they believed in. The character Flo says it best: "We're a pretty average bunch--we're not heroes--we're not even soldiers--we're just a bunch of scared girls who hate war and death."
